We're excited to welcome two new team members

We’re excited to welcome two new members to our team! Both are excellently placed to help us with our mission to catalyse new approaches to home retrofit to enable every UK home to be comfortable, affordable, desirable and fit for 2050 net-zero standards.

Ronan Leyden is joining us as a Programme Director. He will be helping us to deliver some of our current grant-funded retrofit projects while scaling up our support services for asset owners and landlords to deliver deep retrofit at scale in a cost-effective and financeable way.

Ronan brings over 18 years of experience in sustainability in the built environment sector, specialising in UK housing; much of which he has spent leading the consultancy services for an award-winning sustainability consultancy and environmental charity.

Ronan has previously worked with housing associations, local authorities, estates and asset owners to develop sustainability solutions to existing and new build homes and buildings; he has also led a number of grant funded research projects in this area. Ronan is a certified Retrofit Co-ordinator, trained in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings, holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Housing and City Planning, an MSc in Design for Sustainability, and a BSc in Physics and Philosophy.

We’re also delighted to welcome Lillian Lochner as Project Manager for Transform-ER. This game-changing, consortium-led project funded by Innovate UK is tackling retrofit’s biggest barriers to scale to enable one million home upgrades every year by 2030.

Lillian will be overseeing eight work packages across 13 partners to ensure the successful planning and delivery of the project’s ambition to create a cohesive, industrialised sector that delivers high-performance, cost-effective solutions through a standardised process.

With a background in environmental management and climate studies, she embarked on her professional journey as a Researcher at an environmental consultancy. She then moved onto Climate Strategies, where she led on a number of projects and proposals as a Programme Officer to translate complex research findings into actionable recommendations for policymakers.

Prior to joining Energiesprong UK, she worked for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames as a Climate Action Officer, leading on the Council’s retrofit and energy portfolio.
